An End and a Beginning

Posted

Tonight, I am filled with gratitude. For your support through this campaign. And for your words of encouragement when I’ve seen you in Yanceyville, Roxboro or at home in Chapel Hill.

I’m honored to announce that I have been elected to represent Person, Orange and Caswell counties in Senate District 23! As many of you know, I will fill the shoes of Valerie Foushee, whose exemplary service to the state will continue in Congress.

I know I have big shoes to fill, and I look forward to continuing to work with our newest Member of Congress to improve the lives of all North Carolinians.

Over the next few days there will be much more to say and reflect upon, but tonight I simply want to say that I started this campaign promising to Listen, Unite and Lead. I will continue to do so; making strides where we can and I will always do my best to show up for those who voted for me and those who did not.

I am filled with gratitude for your help and support and am eager to begin this next chapter. Tomorrow, I will begin to make plans for how we move forward: on rural broadband, a more equitable and better future for all of our students, making sure our state does its part to combat climate change … and so much more.

More to come, but for now: as I said in my recent ad:  Democrats love North Carolina.  And I love all of you.
